Owly Birday

28 Dec

I lovey this paper from Making Memories (Note Worthy). Our Archivers finally received it and I grabbed up 2 sheets of each to start with. The paper that is used on the card is from a the spiral journal book from the Note Worthy collection. Edit: The Owl is from CHF.

I did some actual stitching on this card. Hauling out my big ol‘ sewing machine normally isn’t my thing, but I had it out because I had finished up a few Christmas presents and didn’t put my sewing machine away right away. (LOL!)

Stamps: Pretty Birds
Ink: SU! Earth Elements reinkers, Cool Caribbean reinker, Staz On Jet Black
Paper: Spiral journal book-Note Worthy Collection
Accessories: Ecru Lace, and some stitching.

Thank you gifts

First of all I want to share that I won those adorable stamps that you see below from Kim Hughes, who is the artist. (Thanks again Kim!!! You Rock!) I won 3 stamp sets Cutie Pet-Tootie, Say What!, and Pet-Tootie sentiments. Totally generous Blog candy!!!
You can order her awesome stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms.

I also found these cute pails at Target and the best part was I found them in the $1 section and it was 50% off…I grabbed up all they had (only 4).

This pail is a small gesture of thanks to a wonderful lady that was a huge blessing to my family.

This is another Thank you gift.

The funky owl has got to be my favorite. It is totally out of the norm for me and I love it. This pail was made for my friend Yvonne who watched the boys for me one day this week. She is totally sweet!!!

This pail is for my friend Michelle who is watching my boys for 2 days this week.
The Deets:
Pails: Target $1 section, the pails are filled to the brim with Hersey nuggets.
Stamps: Pretty Birds, Petootie, Petootie sentiments.
Ink: Staz-On Jet Black, SU! Earth Elements reinkers, Ranger Lettece reinker

Picture of the Boys

Here is a picture of the boys after opening their presents….aren’t they adorable??!?!?!? I think so…(LOL!)

They are precious gifts from God.

I have a few pictures of some cards and projects that I will post either tonight or tomorrow. I did post them in my SCS gallery.

Have a Very Merry Christmas

23 Dec

This is to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!!! I won’t be posting for about a week. I want to enjoy this time with my family and friends. Then maybe I will have some more pictures of projects to share with you.

Bella Friday!

21 Dec

TGIF!

This post is going to be ultra short. I used the reverse masking tech again, water colored with SU! re-inkers. I used watercolor paper for the card base. (my version of Fabriano Medioevalis cards.)

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

A Christmas Present

21 Dec

I made this for my Boss for Christmas. They have several horses and thought this would be a perfect gift.

The Deets:

12×12 stretched canvas, fabric to fit over canvas, modge podge. Painted a silhouette of a horse head…not really atomically correct…but it is ok because it’s a silhouette. I used some shimmery white paint on the side so that the chipboard letters would pop. (The paint is not that shimmery IRL, the flash from the camera really made it shine.) Then I used some ribbon and buttons…because the painting looked lopsided….=)

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful night!!!

A Birthday Card made for me

19 Dec

I wanted to share with you a card that my cousin, Sabrina made me for my Birthday. Isn’t it beautiful! Sabrina did a wonderful job. She is also making gorgeous quilted paper cards. I will have to get a picture of one to share with you. They are unique and beautiful.

My Aunt Kathy also made a beautiful quilted wall hanging out of hanker chiefs that we’ve collected through the years. I will take a picture and share with you soon. =) It is the perfect Shabby Chic addition to my home.

Not to much to share today. Don’t forget that tomorrow is Bella Friday.

Have a wonderful day and many blessings to you!

Oh, Christmas Tree…..

19 Dec

This is a picture of our eclectic tree. We had to buy new lights this year. Which leads us to a funny short story…….
I told the boys they could each pick out two light sets. Well Jeremy chose all green and red lights, and Samuel chose all blue and a multi colored set. Once the tree was assembled (yes, we have a fake tree) I asked the boys how we should put the lights on. They chose to have strips of color, so the bottom of our tree is blue, then multi colored, then green and the top of our tree is red. (LOL!!!)
Then we had to decorate the tree. Again I let the boys do most of the work….the ornaments are a little lop sided (notice the huge bare area in the photo) but our tree was made with lots of love and artness!
This is an extra special Christmas Tree this year. (I normally move the ornaments and choose how the lights will go on etc….you know everything has to be just right.) When I tried to move the ornaments, Samuel my youngest noticed I had moved the ornament and then I proceeded to tell him, since he is into doing art projects, that in art we want to achieve balance (this was my excuse for moving his ornament.) Samuel then told me as he was moving his ornament back to where he had it, that he does have balance in his Artness. LOL!!! Kids are so cute. I couldn’t argue with him and crush his style of artness.
So the tree is a little lopsided, our lights really don’t match, and we have a huge collection of eclectic ornaments, but our Christmas Tree was put together with much artness and love!
The boys incited that I put a picture of their Christmas Tree decorating on my blog. =)
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget about Bella Friday!
I also won 3 stamp sets by Kim Hughes. (I can’t wait to get the stamps, if you haven’t seen her work, please head on over the Cornish Heritage Farms and look for the Kim Hughes Collection.)She was giving away Blog candy and I guess the right number, well I was one off. Kim is so generous!!! Check out her Blog, Paper Hugs, she has awesome cards for inspiration. She also posted a photo of a painting she did when she was 17. It is awesome!!!

A Birdy Christmas

18 Dec

I just love the Kim Hughes Collection at Cornish Heritage Farms. I have two sets the Birdy and Vases set. They are tooo cute! I wanted to do a Christmas card with the birdies. This is what I came up with. I have been using the reverse masking tech. (a little tired of it now…lol!) Inside the card says “Merry Christmas” Now looking at the card, I wish I added another element…..(of what I am not sure….) It doesn’t feel complete. Oh, well…

This has to be a quick post… I am off to get the boys up and ready for school and I need to get ready for work.

Have a great day and many Blessings to you!

It’s Bella Friday!

14 Dec

This card was made for one of my mom’s coworkers. I have had the paper that was used FOREVER! I think it’s by “The Paper Studio”. I purchased a HUGE pack of paper from Hobby Lobby when it was 50% off and paid $10.00 for a 2 1/2″ thick paper pad. (paper size is 12 x 12) Can’t beat that! Over the past year I have torn into and have lost the cover, which tells me who to give credit too. =)

TGIF!!! Yeah!!!! it’s Friday. I am so excited for the weekend. I have several Christmas presents to finish up on and the boys have their Christmas program at church. We had a rehearsal yesterday and all the children are tooo adorable! Tomorrow is a full dress rehearsal….I can’t wait to see all the children in their costumes. Our Sunday School Department does a wonderful job every year with our children and children’s Christmas program.

Now on to the the Crafty stuff:

The title to this post says “Bella Friday”. I am going to attempt to post a Bella card every Friday. (Hope you don’t get sick of Bellas!)

Ink: Regal Rose-marker, Close to Cocoa-reinker, Choco Chip-reinker
Paper: Choco Chip CS, DP-by Paper Studio (I think), Iridescent Velum

(The card size is a 5 x 7)

Blessings & thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!!!
