Especially For You!

26 Aug

One day last week I got the baking bug. (It’s almost fall! I do a lot of baking in the fall it’s one of my most favorite times of year!) I used the Baked with Love set from Cornish Heritage Farms, the Kim Hughes Collection. Gotta love it! I made Zuccini bread, Choco Zuccini bread and Almond pound cake that day.

I also used my new treading water punch….how fun is that punch. I am still learning how to use it…I punched a few crooked pieceswoops!

This is a super short post for today. Gotta get going.

Have a super Spendiferous day!

Have a Cherry Day!

22 Aug

I drew this for my Grandma Mary’s Birthday. She loved it…(thank goodness.) =) **Sorry for the quality of the picture. It’s the best I could do with the lighting and flash. Note to self take a photography class =).**

I am home for little bit today. Jeremy has now started Middle School, like I mentioned a few postings ago. We have to be at the Middles School on and off today for registration. He got his class schedule and OMGoodness I was ohhohohohing and awhwwhwwwing, ready to burst into tears if I didn’t laugh….(Almost embarrassed my son. LOL!) I can’t believe he is going to be in 6th grade. Time has flown by and I am blubbering…I can’t help it! My baby is turning 12 and is 6th grade…..AHHAHAHHAHHAHA!!! It’s exciting….but he’s growing up. (I know that’s the point…but he was just crawling and learning how to walk, wasn’t he?!?!?!???)

Well I will stop blubbering. I am so thankful to God for the years ahead. I thought it was no big deal that he was heading into 6th grade. (I fooled myself very well.) It wasn’t until we were walking around the school and getting his locker, his class schedule (My baby has a class schedule!) and getting some of his stuff settled that it all sunk in. =)

Tonight is Samuel’s birthday party too, he is turning 7. Praise God they are both happy and healthy young men!

I hope to post this weekend but not sure if I will be able too…a house full of boys tonight. It’s going to be lots of fun. =) I love watching them interact with their friends. (too cute!)

Many Blessings,

Thank You!

Hello! I thought this monkey was adorable!

I hope you are having a wonderful week…. I have another story to share with you.

For A Glass Of Milk and Cookies

Several years ago, a poverty stricken boy was selling trinkets from door-to-door in order to pay his way through school. On one particular day he found himself down to his last thin dime and he was hungry.
He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a beautiful young woman opened the door. Instead of asking for a meal, he asked for a drink of water.
She thought he looked sort of hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk and some cookies instead. He drank it slowly and then asked, “How much do I owe you?”
“You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.”
“Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he replied. As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically but his faith in God and human beings was strengthened. He had been ready to give up and quit.
Many years later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled by her condition. She was finally sent to the big city where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called for the consultation.
When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his physicians gown he went in to see her. He recognized her instantly. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. He gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won…..he had saved her life.
Dr. Kelly requested the business office to give him the final bill for approval. He looked at it and wrote something on the bottom of the bill before it was sent to her room.
She was afraid to open it because she was sure it might take all her resources to pay for it. Finally, she looked and on the bottom she read these words:
“Paid in full with one cold glass of mild and some cookies.”
Dr. Howard Kelly.
Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart gave praise and thanks: “Thank you, God, that Your love has also been shared through another human being because of the lessons share with me by my mother.”

John 15:15-16 says it all.
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing: but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Birthday Phone & A Laugh

18 Aug

Who doesn’t love Altoids ?!?!??? Yummy…. I purchased a plain Altoid tin and decided to dress it up a bit for a fun birthday card.

This is the tin closed…….. and

This is the tin open with a mini accordion card inside. I used some older K & Company girlie paper I had in my stash for each section. I alternated DP too… on the inside are some fun images from Gina K Designs – Text Message stamp set. (Love this set!) **See below for the deets**

I hope you had a fantabulous Monday! The boys are uber excited that school is starting in 2 weeks. I have mixed feelings. My baby is going to be in the 6th grade this year….He is growing up so fast. My littlest isn’t so little any more either and he is going to be in 2nd grade this year.

I want to cherish every moment we have together while they are children, because it isn’t going to last.

Since I seem to being going down the sentimental path of Motherhood. (which I love by the way) I though I’d share some funny thoughts from a Devotional for Moms, by Robert J. Strand.

Things Learned from Children

1. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

2. A three-year-old is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

3. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades they can ignite.

4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a forty – two – pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, to spread paint on all four walls of a large room. (LOL!!!)

5. When using the ceiling fan as a baseball bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6. The glass windows (even double or triple pane) doesn’t stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words, “Uh-oh,” at the same time, it’s already too late.

8. A six-year-0ld can start a fire with a flint rock even though a thirty -six-year old man says they can only do it in the movies. A magnifying glass can start a fire, even on an overcast day.

9. No matter how much Jello-O you put in a swimming pool, you still can’t walk on water. (LOL!!!)

10. Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

I hope these brought a smile to your face…..I know I needed that today. I just love my boys so very much…and I am glad that they don’t read my blog, because they may get some more “creative” ideas…. Please feel free to share any fun and creative things your children have done. I’d love to hear!

Is there a stamp set in your collection that you use, but you never get pictures of ?!?!?!??? Well I have several of those stamps sets and this set from Gina K Designs is one of them. I purchased this stamp set a while ago and have used it lots….yet…I have no pictures.
I just lovey this concept of a cell phone with text messaging….how cool is that!!! I have had a cell phone for several years and this is the first year that I’ve gotten into texting. (I know way behind the times…) Texting is so much fun and it totally has it’s own language. When I first started texting and I am still learning….I got the easy abbreviations like, 2 for to, b for be, and u for you. I even know what LOL is! There were a few that stumped me and I had to ask what they meant. LOL!
I made this card last week for a friend. I think she’ll get a kick out of it.
I used the rock n’ roll technique on the flower. I used two different ink colors, Ranger Shell pink and Watermelon. (Yummy colors!). It’s a super duper easy technique that everyone knows. You stamp the flower into your lightest ink color (Shell Pink) and then rock the edges of flower stamp in the darker color (Watermelon). I love how the flowers turned out. Also, I broke down and purchased my first set of nesties. I used the largest of the small rectangle scallop set.
The phone is also popped up on dimensional. I used my Copic markers to color in the phone. I used my Copic Sketch, R39 Garnet, and my Copic Ciao, RV21 Light Pink. (I only own 7 Copics…not a very large collection and it is a mixture of Sketch and Ciao.)
Deets: Stamps: Text Messages – Gina K Designs, Ink: By Ranger- Shell Pink and Watermelon, Accessories: Yummy Neapolitan Ribbon from Ribbons and Bows Oh My, and Scallop nesties.
Thanks for Stopping by today and sorry it’s taken me all week to post.
Many Blessings and have a wonderful weekend!
