Wheel Barrow full of Thanks!

22 Sep

I made this card for Cammie’s HUGE blog candy. (See post below for the deets.)

My Great grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s. I remember it being a very difficult and sad time for our family. So when I saw what Cammie was doing, I wanted to join in.

I am going to be making a few more cards and sending them to the address Cammie provided if we don’t know anyone in our area. I am also making a few cards for an Alzheimer’s wing I used to work at. The caregivers are amazing like Cammie says!

Many Blessings to you and don’t forget to give your cards this week!

Blog Candy from CAMMIE

21 Sep

I was blog hopping this morning and remembered that Cammie was have a HUGE Blog candy give a way.

Please visit her blog: CAMMIE

What a wonderful opportunity to give back!!!!

I took the text below off of Cammie’s blog: Please read.

WOW! I just cannot believe how big this got. As most of you know by now, I recently released my newest set through Gina K Designs called Whimsical Autumn, which benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. My grandmother passed away in June from complications of this horrible disease and I wanted to try to help in any little way I could. I recently found out that today is World Alzheimer’s Day. The Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association DOUBLED all donations given up until today so I asked Gina for some preliminary figures. After just two weeks, 112 sets have been sold. On Friday, I sent over my first commission–$450. So the first contribution ended up being $900! I am thrilled.

I will be making a card and posting it on my blog some time this week.

Many Blessings!!!

Give Thanks

18 Sep

Psalm 136:4 is one of my favorite scriptures…..”Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His love endures forever.”
I just love this set from Gina K called so Grateful. “This fabulous set of 12 stamps was created by artist Rupa Shevde for Gina K. Designs. A generous portion on the proceeds of each stamp set sold will go directly to “Feed the Children” to help children and their families in need.” (From Gina K’s site.)
I used a new pen. Well new to me anyways. A gold metallic pen from Marvey. It’s pretty cool.
Have a Super SPLENDIFEROUS rest of the week!!!

I just lovey this set from Paper Trey Ink called Quilt Sampler. I love all the sentiments in this set! This set reminded me of my Grandma. My Grandma was so talented when it came to cooking and sewing. She could look at you and cut out an outfit and sew it together. (Um, please! make me sick!) I wish some of her talent would have rubbed off on me. =)

I hope you have a super wonderful day!

Happy Fall

15 Sep

I just lovey this set from Gina K called “So Grateful”. The pumpkins are too cute. I had two 4×4 pieces of chip boards left from a project and thought I’d use them to make a door hanging for a friend.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I really love all the seasons, but there is something about fall that reminds me of when I was child growing up. Fall and Winter were always full of lots of family fun and love. =)

This is the second side of the hanging. It has one of my favorite scriptures, Psalm 100:4.
Those acorns are sooo cute!
Stamps: So Grateful from Gina K, Paper: K & Co, Ink: SU! reinkers, Accessories: Crochet lace, ribbon and buttons.
I hope you have a super, duper, blessed week!

Purse Modifications

13 Sep

This is the mini tutorial I wanted to share with you last week. I am not even sure if it qualifies as a mini tutorial.

I wish I could take the credit for this adorable purse. I found the original tutorial on Diana Gibbs blog, called Stampin‘ With Di. Please click HERE for a link to her original tutorial.

I modified her instructions to fit the supplies I had on hand. The instructions called for a 5.5″ bag and I made mine 4.5″ bag. (This only affects the height of the bag. I wanted mine a little smaller.)

I also used my Sm. scalloped rectangle nestablities. Die #2 & #4 in the set and ran them through my cuttlebug, to get the handles on the purse. So really this is not a mini tutorial, but sharing the modifications I made to the orig. purse to fit my style. (Sorry for any disappointment!) =)

I used my new stamp set from Gina K Designs by Rupa Shevde – Retro Boutique. I just lovey this set!!!

I filled the purse with quotes from an older SU! set called Friend something. ( when I find the name I will add it later.) I also used the define set from SU! as well. A little inspiration to share with a friend of mine.

I received another brand new set that is designed by Rupa Shevde called So Grateful. What is awesome about this set is that a portion of the funds will go towards, Feed the Children. Feed the Children provides, food, water, and hope to children worldwide. How cool is that!?!?!!!
Gina K Rocks! I made a few cards using this stamp set and will share with you in the next couple days. It is an awesome Fall set!

Deets: Stamps: Retro Boutique – Gina K, SU! Define, and Friends ?, Paper: K & Co. Ink: SU! reinkers. Accessories: Sm. rectangle scallop nesties, Lg. circle scallop nesties set. (I used the smalled circle in this set.)

Thanks for Stopping by today and I hope you have a super FANTABULOUS weekend!

Quality, Journey, and Inspire

10 Sep

I made this card for my dearest and most sweetest friend, Melodie. She is a true blessing from God! We all go through hard times and it’s in the mist of a storm, trial or tribulation that God reveals to us the content of our heart and allows the season to mold us in his image.

The words Quality, Journey and Inspire came to mind when praying for my dear friend!

Quality: Well made or durable. Top of the line; excellent, high class. To provide the best.

Journey: An experience or process that leaves you changed; trial of experience. From here to there.

Inspire: To cause or create new ideas. Fresh thoughts; to influence. To motivate one to action.

Sometimes we go through a God ordained quality, journey that will forever change us and inspire others to live for Him. Melodie is an inspiration! Her love for God, his Word, and prayer are infectous! A blessing.

Okay now the deets on the card: Stamps: Paradise Found -KHC by www.cornishheritagefarms.com, and SU! definitions. Ink: Choco Chip. Paper: Fun Postcard paper my Making Memories. It comes all distressed and collaged. (hope that’s a word. LOL!) Accessories: MM ribbon, flowers and staples.

I hope every one is having a awesome week!

Many Blessings to you!!! Mary
