It’s Tuesday and All is Well!

31 Mar

I just love this paper from K & Co., Brenda Walton – Madaline collection….it is bright and shabby. I used my newest favorite stamp set called Damask Designs from Paper Trey Ink…and the designer is the talented Dawn McVey. Love her blog too!
Joyce from Northern Ireland asked me a question via comments on my previous post and I wanted to answer her….so here we go:
Love your card and your site…like the item on ‘trials’ – all true. Can I ask why you have a map of Ireland on your site…I ask because I am from Northern Ireland – I am guessing you are one of many Americans who have ancestors over here? Every Blessing from God’s own country….with 40 shades of green.Joyce in Northern Ireland.
Joyce,
My Great-grandparents on my mom’s, father’s side were from Ireland. (My aunt has done a partial of our family tree…) The Lord has also given me a love for the people and country of Ireland. I can’t wait to travel across the pond and see the 40 shades of greem myself. The boys and I are planning a trip in a couple of years, when they are older and can appreicate the trip. Thanks for inquiring on my love for your country!
Many Blessings to you, Mary
I hope you have a super fantastic day!!!

Shabby Chic Monday

30 Mar

Good morning fellow blogging friends! I am so happy that a new week has begun, how about you?

I had a chance to get creative this weekend! Whoo Hooo….I haven’t been able to really create the past few weeks. They boys helped me as usual and I will have to up load some of their fantastic art. The boys are so creative……it’s a good thing!

I have always loved the Shabby Chic style of card making. Melissa from LilyBeans Paperie is one of my favorite inspirational blogs for this style of card making. I also tripped across another blog called Bits and Pieces, Anabelle has the Shabby Chic going on too…. and I have to mention Betsy from Paper, Scissors, Superheroes. Their blogs are full of wonderful, creative INSPIRATION…..Thank you ladies for your inspiration this weekend! Make sure you take a look at their beautiful work when you get a chance.

I do have to go and get my chillen’s up for school and finish getting ready for work. Thanks for stopping by today and have super splenderific Monday!

Many Blessings,

Mary

26 Mar

Well I forgot to take a picture of the package that I mailed my sister this week…..but I did take a picture of one of the items in the box…LOL!
I made her a set of cards, of coarse. The small package was filled to the brim with fun stuff for her and the girls. I sure hope they enjoy. (pretty sure they will…sent with Big smiles and hugs enclosed.)
Busy morning already in our home…so my post will be short. Hope you have a super splenderific day!!!
Many Blessings,
Mary
Deets: I cased one of Lauren Meader’s layouts and all stamps are Paper Trey Ink. I used my Copics to color in the quilt images.

Sweetest Blessings – Onsie

24 Mar

Good Morning! I thought I’d share with you a onsie I made using the Sweetest Blessings stamp set from Gina K Designs.
I have seen many people use their Copics to color images on onsies and shirts. So I thought I’d give it a try and it was a little harder to get use to since I was coloring on fiber instead of paper. So there was a little color bleeding on some of the treads, but not to bad. You really have to start from the inside of your project and move out.
Puffy paint is soooo much fun! I used Liquid Applique on the top of the cupcake and heat set it. Then I colored it roughly with my pink Copic marker.
Overall I think it turned out pretty good.
A lot of my friends and family will be having babies this fall and they are all getting some onsies, among other fun baby stuff. LOL!
I’ve been creating some new things to send to my sister in Washington and my two precious nieces. I hope to get everything photographed to share with you. And get their package shipped to them very soon. (poor thing is having to wait on me…)
I hope you have a super fantabulous week!
Many Blessings,
Mary

Share your Art…..

17 Mar

I was visiting Nancy blog and came accross this fun post and decided it would be fun to play along….
SHARE YOUR ART!! I was over at Nancy’s blog, Inkcicles, and she’s invited/challenged us to share our art!
Here’s how: The first 4 people to respond to this post will get something made by me! Could be a card with which I am really pleased, a pin I made, a doodle or something else all together LOL! My choice!
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make although I hope you do!
2. What I create will be made with you in mind so you won’t get something I already made unless I think it suits you to a T.
3. It’ll be done sometime within the next 2 months.
4. You have no clue what it’s going to be.
5. The catch is that you must offer this blog candy on your blog! Re-post this on your blog, offer something you make – your choice – to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog (then come here and post). Oh wait make that the first 4 people cause I am #1 {giggle}
Yep be sure to add my name to the #1 line on your blog post – I am the first participant and I am already offering to share. When you create your give-away you will be the #1 spot for players 2-5 on your list. The first 4 people to post this on their blogs and leave a comment here telling me they did (I will go to your blog to check that you have this posted) will get an art share handmade item from me. Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! SO ……………….who will be next????
1. Nancy
2. Carla
3.
4.
5.
Sounds like fun, huh!?!!???? So wanna play?
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the beautiful weather! (Well it is almost 70 degrees in WI!!! Whoo Hoo! The boys are outside enjoying the weather.)
Many Blessings,
Mary

Hugs and Smiles for you day!

17 Mar

I made a set of misc cards for my Auntie Kaskfey (Kathy) for her Birthday earlier this month. Well her Birthday was earlier this month and she received her Birthday presents late….Whoops.
I just lovey the Lemon Tart CS from Paper Trey Ink. It is one of my new favorite colors. I also used a scrap of DP from the new Basic Grey line called Porcelain.
I used the pie image from my first illustrated stamp set called “Sweetest Blessings” by Gina K Designs, along with the sentiment from Tag lines. Tag lines is one of my all time favorite sentiment sets now. There are so many fun and playful sentiments in this set.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a super fantabulous day!

Wonderful Friend

16 Mar

Anna Wight illustrates the cutest stamps around. I just lovey her old school style! I used her Fish Friends set.
Again I used my Copic markers to color the image. I used some of the new Basic Grey DP as well….called Porcelain. The papers are beautiful and can be used for funky, fresh and fun along with the vintage, retro that the paper inspires when you first look at it. It’s one of my favorites! It’s very Victorian in style….which I love. =)
I have an encouraging story to share with you today.
God is ever faithful and right on time. I pray this brings you hope and encouragement!
The Perfect Result
Trials come in various categories.
They may be physical, emotional, financial, relational or spiritual. They may slip in unexpectedly and know on the door of you business, your church, or your home. They may arrive at any time or at any season. They may come suddenly, like a car accident or a natural catastrophe. They maybe prolongs, like a drawn-out court case or a lingering, nagging illness. Trials can be public in nature or very private. They can be directly related to our own sin, the sin of others, or not related to sin at all.
A trial can be like a rock hitting the water. You don’t cause the jolt, but you’re impacted by it. You’re just standing there, and suddenly the smooth lake of your life surges into giant waves and almost drowns you.
Frankly, some trials seem to blow in absolutely without reason. My brother, Orville, encountered something like that when a hurricane named Andrew blew through the community where he lived in south Florida a few years ago. It tore and ripped and screamed its way through, tearing his house apart. He had a great attitude, though. He called and said, “What an experience! It really did a lot of damage. But the good news is it tore down every one’s fences, so now we’ll get to meet our neighbors.”
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”. James 1:2-4
James says we experience trials so that we may become “perfect and complete,” like a plant that has matured to its maximum growth and fruitfulness. That, he says, is the “perfect result” of “endurance.”
Most often, because of the discomfort, the pain, or the hardship, we try to cut our trials short – to put an end to them. Before long, we’re resenting them to such and extreme that we’ll try anything to escape, to run from them. Instead, James says, endure the trial; let it come to completion. When it does, you’ll be a better person for it.
From the book “Encouragement for Life” by Charles R. Swindoll.
Have a beautiful Monday and Many Blessings!

Puppies

13 Mar

Happy Friday to you! Isn’t this image from Asela Hopkins adorable! I just love this set. You can find it here at Gina K Designs.
I made this card for my boys….they are wonderful blessings from God! Jeremy and Samuel are full of life and adventure. They keep me on my toes! LOL! It can get a little tiring, but I wouldn’t trade them or their adventure for life….for anything in this world. =)
Thanks for stopping by today and have a super Splendiferous kind of weekend!

Chicken?

12 Mar

Good Evening! I just love this image from Whipper Snapper drawn by Anna Wight. I love Anna’s chickens…they are tooo adorable!

I made a few of these cards and have been sending them to some special people….those who will get my slightly twisted humor. LOL!

I used my Copics to color the chickens….it is a lot of fun learning how to use these markers. I do feel the urge to slosh some color on paper….so I think you will start seeing some more images colored via watercolor. Water coloring (AKA…Sloshing Color) is so therapeutic to me.

Well again I am going to have to make this post quick. I hope to be back on my normal posting schedule soon.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday full of God’s blessings!

Mary
