You’re my cup of tea

29 Jan

I forgot all about my Amuse stamp sets. I have them in a special little see through box, since they are normally smaller in size than my other wood mounted stamps….and like the “special” hoarding box…I haven’t been into my amuse box in a very LONG time. LOL! I simply forgot about it…”out of sight out of mind”…as the old saying goes. I thought having it in the clear box wouldn’t allow me to forget…but that only works when you don’t pile other boxes on top of it, because you’re running out of closet space. LOL!

I used some of my all time favorite paper – Cosmo Cricket’s – Early Bird Collection…I love the all the warm colors mixed with cherries. It’s fun and whimsical.

I am going to go for now….talk with you soon!

Many Blessings,

Hellow Deerie….

28 Jan
I saw K. Werner do a monocramatic card on her blog a while back and thought about doing one for a while. Check out K. Werners original master piece that inspired my card.  Well i tried…..I am not sure how I like it.   I used a blender pen for the very first time, it’s from Marvy.  It was different than using my watercolor brushes.  I like how the pen applies the ink….just need to figure out the “blending” part. LOL!  I think I over blended…..Oh well….. I’ll get it right the next time.  =)
I used an adorable Deer stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Deer Wishes, it was their November 2008 stamp of the month.  I think it’s adorable, and so I used it.   The “Thank You” sentiment is from another one of their stamp sets called Silhouette Wishes and it was their April 2009 stamp of the month.

Thank you for all of your support and love and we still have a little over 4 more weeks to go on our 40 days of fasting from Media.  It’s been an adjustment.  Because of school I am on the internet daily, but am limiting myself to getting my home work done and a few other crafty business related things done.  It’s working for us.  Well there isn’t to much on the home front this week.  How are you doing?  Anyone what to share with me some CHA goodness, like telling me about any cool new products?  (LOL!)  =)

Many Blessings!

There is no doubt

27 Jan

I made this card for Samuel. He loves planes right now and the paper from Cosmo Cricket the Lil’ Man Collection is perfect!  The main focal image is from the tags like sheet. (forgot what it was called. LOL! but it’s a 12×12 sheet with 20 different images, sentiments or journaling spots that match the paper line.)

The sentiment is from Ali Edwards: Loving you stamp set.

I began school the week of 1/18/2010 and am loving it.  I have several papers to write…but am blessed to be back at school since not being able to find work.  I’ll share more about that later.

Blessings and thank you for your support through the past couple of weeks.

Thank You!

25 Jan

A while back I purchase the Ali Edwards stamp set called: Loving Words from Technique Tuesday.  (It was 40% off. Can you blame me?)

Any ways…I just the hand written look of her “Thank You”.    And keeping with using my hoarded items…I pulled out my yummy vintage finding from Making Memories.  Are the velvet leaves and flower pretty?!
I placed a PTI button in the middle to try and tie the card together.

I have been stamping on fabric a lot lately and am loving the look!  So instead of paper for my font panel I used a piece of muslin and stiched it to the front.  I used some tea stained 1″ Twill tape.   The little heart pins are from Joann’s.  They had leaf and heart pins for a $1.29 a package and they were in the notions isle, which was 40% off at the time.  Talk about total score!

This is week two of our media fast and since this is pre-scheduled post and I am just starting week one, I don’t have any feedback….LOL!  Just thought you’d like to know.  =)

Blessings and have an uber fantastic week!

Vintage Eye Exam

23 Jan

A while ago I had purchased a packed of yummy vintage findings from 7 Gypsies and have never used them. For some reason I felt the need to hoard them. It would have been cool if I decided to display them, while hoarding them…you know for decoration….but no. The yummy vintage finding where all nice and cozy in there packaging stuffed into a secret place…where all my “special” items go that I hoard. LOL!

I decided to get all of my “special” items out and begin to use them. Why let them sit in a drawer all pretty and unused. I make no sense…LOL! But I know you do the same thing….(shhh! I’ll keep that secret…LOL!)

I had made the card base a while back to and decided to use that card base up. I tend to make several cards at once, when I get a chance to sit down and craft. Because I normally don’t make cards daily. I make cards once or twice a month. So then I try to make several at a time for me to use or give as gifts. I made a set of cards a while back that used the uber yummy October Afternoon-Cherry Hill paper and had stitched it to a white card base and there it sat in my “special” items drawer.

Needless to say I have been a very small dent in my horde of “special” items. I have made a goal of not purchasing any more “new” items until most of my old stuff is gone….and that’s a little scarry….cause I like to pick a peice or two of paper here or there and buy packaged of paper when I have a 40% off coupon….and well – I am going to try very hard to stick to using up my old papers and embellishements, before purchasing new ones. I might use this as part of a Moe Joe Challenge soon, too.

Blessings to you and thanks for stopping by today!

Howdy Ya’ll

22 Jan

Isn’t this cowgirl…..soooo stinkn’ cute?  I thought so.  This is another adorable set from Clear Dollar Stamp called Howdy Partner.  The girl reminds me of the Cowboy girl doll from Toy Story. Her name escapes for the moment and I’m not sure why.  Before we went on our Media fast the boys watched Toy Story one and two a gazillion times…so you would think that I could recall her name, but nope I can’t…LOL!

I had a lot of fun coloring the image with my Copics.  I couldn’t make up my mind on the color of her outfit and ended up being blue and gold…I colored over the yellow part with a star dust pen from sakura. IRL all the yellow is super sparkly. I even colored the lighter blue with star dust pen.  I used my nesties to make a shape card.  On the inside of the card says “Howdy Ya’ll”.  I used some twine for her rope.

Thank for stopping by today.  Have a great day and many blessings!

Hoppy Day

20 Jan

Is’t this the cutest stamp set you’ve ever seen?  This adorable little frog and tree log is from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I used some Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg DP….I thought it was perfect for this stamp set.

I made this card for Clear Dollar Stamp Challenge #5 (CIC5).  The card I made is my take on this sketch challenge.

So what do you think?  I love how it turned out.  You have until tomorrow to play along.  So join in the CDS fun!

Blessing to you and thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll be posting a few more CDS cards soon.

A get well prayer….

19 Jan

For all who are battling with sickness….Isn’t this the cutest?  This is a set from Cornish Heritage Farms, Saturday Evening Post Collectoin – Common Cold.  Adorable set to use for get well cards….too fun!

Well we have started our Media fast and I’d have to say it’s hard….I’ve gotten into the habbit of spending 30 minutes a day surfing your blogs….I know that isn’t bad…but boy howdy…It was hard to not follow through with my routine this morning…LOL!   There will be great benifits of being closer to Jesus when we are all done.  We have ample opportunity to spend QUALITY time with each other and in the Word.

Saturday night we played Monopoly and this was Samuel’s first time playing. He is 8 years old.  We’ve tried having him play before, but he wasn’t into it.   Well on Saturday he kicked our tails….Samuel had almost all the properties and ended up having $10,000 plus dollars.  (He had to cound his money after he won the game so he knew how much he won by…LOL! – reminded me of Alex P. Keaton…..I just dated myself with name dropping of this character. LOL!)

I found the yummy paper on clearence at my local Archivers.  Gotta love that!  It’s Cosmo Cricket’s Lil’ Man Collection.

I love the color combo of blue, red and kraft….You’ll see it a lot these next few weeks, that I am pre-posting.

Thanks for stopping by and talk with you soon,

The JOY of the LORD….

18 Jan

Happy Monday to you!   I just love this image from Mo’s Digital Pencil…this too was a freebie from some time last year.  I don’t have a current link…sorry!

I printed the image on 80lb laying weight card stock from Gina K and colored the image with my Copics.  It was a lot fun!

On the inside of the card it says…”is my Strength”

I also wanted to let you know that starting today….my family and I are joining our church in a 40 days of prayer and fasting.   How does that effect you, you might ask.  Well that means I won’t be really blogging for 40 days.  I have a few assignments or prior commitments that I made and will post those “Live”, when I recieve them….but other than that…I am pre-posting blog entries for the next 40 days.

Our Pastor asked each of us to join in an all Media fast coupled with another type of fast that is our choice and that fits with our schedules etc….but the all media fast is for everyone….and I think this is such a good thing.  Prayer coupled with fasting is awesome.  It ushers us into a closer more intimate walk with God.

I will only be answering emails and comments that need an immediate response and are business related in nature….the business of illustrating and my etsy store.

Thanks for understanding and again I’ll have pre-scheduled posts here and there during the next 40 days….and when I return to “Live” posts…I’ll have some pretty amazing news to share with you!

Appreciate each one of you and many blessings!!!

Feature Saturday

16 Jan

Happy Saturday to you!  I have missed a couple of Featured Saturday’s and am sorry for that!   This  Saturday I thought I’d give you a very, very, early sneaky peek at something that I’ve been working on and will be working on for a little while yet.   I’ll give you a hint…The image above is one that I’ve drawn…..and it’s a digital image.

Can you guess?

I am very excited and still have lots of things to work on in the background….but I had to show you this card…I made it for a sweet friend who has been an encouragement and blessing to me.  I don’t want to share her name with you…until she receives the card.  =)

Blessings and have a great weekend!
