Blackleaf Studios Wednesday

30 Jun

Good morning, I have digital card that I created using the sketch that is on the Blackleaf studios blog.   There are offering awesome blog candy, so make sure you head on over and play along.

I want to give a shout out to Tanvi the owner of Blackleaf Studios and say Thank you so very much for allowing me to be apart of her Design Team.  She is the sweetest!  I love her designs.  I know that Blackleaf will continue to grow and expand.

Well I need to get my son to summer school in a little bit.  Thank you for stopping by and I’ll see you later!

Waltzingmouse – Sketch Challenge

29 Jun
I decided to play along in the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge.  I thought the sketch looked fun and interesting.  Make sure you check out the WM challenge blog and join in the fun!
Here is my card.
I used some of my favorite paper from October Afternoon – Thrift Shop Collection and the book paper is from one of all time favorite authors – Jane Austen. (I found the book at my local antique store- it’s not too old, but it works for my purpose of cutting it up to use on projects.)
I used the Irish Blessings stamp set from Waltzingmouse.  The sentiment is one of my all time favorites.  I am learning Gaelic (slowly but surely!! LOL!)  It’s such a beautiful language.  Anyways…I used the SU! small circles punch around the boarder. (The smaller stamps are from the same set.)  Claire has so many stamps stuffed into each stamp set that I am amazed at the number of stamps and uses that each set has to offer.
I tried my hand at using my Copic markers more on the pale side.  I should of brought out my watercolors to slosh the color down….but I was challenging myself to use what was on my work space…..I am not 100% sold on the look and will continue to play until I get it right…LOL!
I am still working on my sample for the Doodle Pantry release that is just around the corner.  I can’t wait to begin sharing those with you!
Thanks for stopping by today and many blessings!

How does your garden grow?

28 Jun
I went out this morning to check on our potted garden.  And lookie what I found?  Yeppers some ubery cute baby cucumbers and a few small green tomatoes.   Soooo excited that our garden is growing.
This is our third year having a potted garden.  We live in an apartment complex and the last two years we did peppers, tomatoes and herbs.  We grew plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and grape tomatoes.  We had lots and lots of red and yellow variety tomatoes coming our our ears and quite a few green peppers.   But this year we expanded our little potted garden to include potatoes, different variety of bell peppers, strawberries and cucumbers.  Yummy!
I’ll have something crafty to share with you later on today or tomorrow.  I am working on Doodle Pantry samples for the July 5 release.  That’s just around the corner!
Thanks for stopping by and many blessings,

Happy Birthday

26 Jun
I created this card for my son’s friend, that had a Birthday earlier this month.  My son and his friends are totally into their iPod touches.  Any hoot….my son wanted me to draw an iPod touch.  (I just love how my boys think I’m so talented….LOL!  When I only pretend…LOL!)
This is what I ended up creating. I quickly doodled an iPod touch shape and created a few of the icons (or application – my son corrected me LOL!).  (Don’t look to closely – they are unevenly shaped. LOL!)

All that matters is his friend loved his Birthday card.   The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from Papertrey Inks – Birthdays sentiments stamp set.
I am still not 100% better, so I am going to rest.  Hope you have a super fantabulous weekend!
Random thoughts:
I am so excited for tomorrow. We are having a bi-lingual service, our Spanish Pastor will be preaching and someone will translate into English…I love these types of services!

It’s here….(finally)

25 Jun
Here is today’s card!  It’s bright and cheery!  Not my normal colors….but I think it worked out.

So what do you think?  Still lots of room for improvement….(the perfectionist is coming out in me…I can’t help it! LOL! )   Better than last week.  You do get to hear me talk to myself. LOL!

I will be uploading the Ruffle crepe paper ribbon to my Etsy shop later tonight or tomorrow.  It’s so much fun to work with!

Blackleaf Wednesday

23 Jun

Using the BLS graphics, you can make all sorts of cards.  I made an anniversary card this time around using the girafee image from the Welcome to the Jungle graphic set.  Lots of cute adorable images!

Check out the BSL blog for lots of inspiration and ideas to create with.

We have been extra busy and fighting some illness.  So I’ll be back soon.

Bridal Shower Invites for a friend

20 Jun

A friend asked me to make some “spa” themed bridial shower cards.  This was the only image in my collection that came close to a “spa” theme. LOL!  But they loved them anyways.    It was nice to break out my Bella images again.    Does the layout look familar?  Yep…it’s the same one for my challenge.   Check out my CHALLENGE post here and play along.

I colored my bella image with Copics, added some chunky glitter for the bubbles.

Tip:  If you want to make a scallop around an image with a certain DP that you don’t have a lot of, try cutting a bunch of little small circles and adding them around your image, like I did above.

I had 12 cards to make, not a lot, but I didn’t have enough of that adorable October Afternoon – Ducks in row paper to cut large scallop circles out of.  So I decided to use my SU! little circle punch.  It was a little time consuming…..but not to bad.  And I loved the end results.  I was able to take one 8×8 piece of DP and make it stretch for 12 cards.  I thought that was pretty cool!

The other pink circles are cut from PTI sweet blush CS.   Of coarse I used my white gel pen to add some stitching….because it looked a little plain.

That’s all that I have for today.  The boys and I need to get ready for church.  I hope you have a super fantabulous Sunday!

I have a new product in my Etsy shop. Let me introduce to you “Daily Thoughts” mini journals.

Have you ever wished that you had jotted down a few words on a special day that would help jog your memory a few days, weeks, months or even years later? I know I have, and this is how “Daily Thoughts” was born.

Each “Daily Thoughts” journal is designed, hand cut, stitched, bound and decorated by me.

These journals are perfect for any age. My oldest son who is 13 years old, loves his journal and is jotting down his thoughts several days a week. What an awesome habit to get into.
“Daily Thoughts” journals are perfect for gift giving to yourself or someone special. I am giving a journal as a gift to a couple to take on their honey moon.

There are several different styles that I am uploading today to my Etsy shop. There should be a style that fits you perfectly.

This is a photo of the what the inside pages say.

Thank you for stopping by today and soon you’ll be able to check out all the styles in my Etsy shop.
