Press towards the mark….

8 Jan

I just love this sentiment with the iron image…totally clever stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms called ATC Line – Domestic Love.

This sentiment reminds me of this scripture; Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Here is another version:  Philippians 3:13-14 (Amplified Bible)

I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

So no matter what wrinkles life may be throwing at me….I am going press through and I want to encourage you to do the same.

We serve a great and mighty God!  His ways are above our ways and He has knit you together in your mothers womb and has known you before you were born.  He has plans for your life!  If you are facing a situation that is wrinkling your path….let’s be like Paul and continue to “Press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.”

So as the card says….When life gives you wrinkles, press right through.

Many Blessings to you and thanks for stopping by!!!!

Deets on card:
Stamps: Domestic Love – CHF, Ink: PTI – Drk Choco Hybrid Ink, Accessories:  Muslin Material, Fun Fashion Cotton Fabric from Robert Kaufman, Buttons from PTI – Pure Poppy, the ribbon treatment is a scrap piece of muslin material tied into a knot.  I used my sewing machine to stitch around material.  And finally…the sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of muslin and I stitched that to the card as well – to mimic a clothes label.  (So what do you think?)

You Make Me Smile

21 Oct

We’ve been uber busy with life since I’ve gotten home from my little weekend away with some girls from church.  I brought my mom’s camera and didn’t take 1 picture…shame on me. (LOL!)  Well that isn’t entirely true…I did take a few pictures using some else’s camera over the weekend….but I don’t have a copy of those pictures yet.  (Insert sad face here…LOL!)

We had lots of fun spending time with each other.  The fellowship was awesome.  We played games, prayed and went shopping…or I should say window shopping, which is my favorite type of shopping.  I get lots of ideas when window shopping.

Needless to say, the weekend was perfect and so thankful for God’s blessings!  I came home refeshed and it’s a good thing too since I hit the ground running as soon as I pulled into town on Sunday morning and we haven’t really stopped since.

Thank you all for your well wishes and comments on my cards this week.  This is the last card for a little bit using Sassafras’ Vintage Yummy paper….I used Kim Hughes cartoon turkey image from CHF for my main image.  I colored the image with copics and used my orderless marker to make it look distressed.  What do you think?

I have to get the pictures of my homemade embellishments in my shop tomorrow.  I used the uber yummy Sassafras paper along with matching felt and some yummy stitching.   Each set will sell for $3.00 each plus shipping and you’ll get 6 handmade embellishments.

I’ll see you tomorrow….thanks for stopping by!

Many Blessings,

Vintage cards

8 Oct

Here are the three cards that I made with Moe’s Vintage Card Kit…..

This card used the Lemon Tart card base, cherry paper from Cosmo Cricket, chip board shape from K & Co., Home made patterned paper flowers with vintage button centers (sprayed with coffee glimmer mist.) and May Arts Silk ribbon. I used my white Signo gel pen to outline the chip board piece. I used CHF – Scripture essentials 1 stamp set and the compass from their light house – scene it collection. The chip board piece is popped up on dimensionals.

The second card uses the Kraft Card base and the polka dot paper from Cosmo Cricket. I used one of the 2 – crochet lace pieces. I cut out a cream felt heart from my stash, used the red twine from Martha Stewart, 2 leaves from Making Memories, my home made flower and Tim Holtz tickets.

The last card I made, used the white card base and more yummy Cosmo Cricket paper that is in the kit. I used my last piece of the crochet lace, another cream heart (cut from my felt stash), a home made flower, fancy pants pin, more May Arts silk ribbon and CHF’s – Scripture Essentials.
I still had plenty of embelishments and paper left for a few more cards.
Thanks for stopping by and I still have 3 of Moe’s Vintage Card Kits availb. in my Etsy shop.
Have a beautiful day and many blessings,

Well yesterday you saw Kelly’s BD card and today you get to see the card set I made for her. Extremely simple….no fluff. I like how they turned out, what do you think?
I used two Kim Hughes sets that I have…Forest Frindzy and Little Gal stamp sets. I paper pieced the kite and made a few highlights on the kites and clouds for a little color and depth.
We have our Bi-Lingual service today at church! We always have such a wonderful move of God in each of our services. Can’t wait!!!

Don’ t Fret Dearie….

28 Aug

I made this set of cards for my cousin as a birthday present. Her husband Pastors a church where we live and I know that she uses cards to encourage others. So, Dawn’s scattered showers set, it totally perfect for encouragement cards. I used scripture essentials 1 from Cornish Heritage Farms….love the font!

I used Proverbs 3:5 & 6:
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Perfect scripture for encouragement….don’t you think?
I heat embossed the umbrella and cut out the inside portion of the image, so the scripture can show through the front.

I used some super yummy Lemonade collection from Basic Grey. I also made my own card box. Too much fun! Made a clear box lid and tied a bow to hold it all together.

Here is the collection of cards…..They all have the same image, sentiment and scripture. All the papers are from the Lemonade collection. Super easy to make with a unique flair that you can’t get from the stores.
Well I have been saying that I’d share a story with you and since the cards above are about encouragement…..I’ll take the que and share some encouragement with you.
I recently had a conversation with a friend, who feels like she’s in a pit. Well we have all been there. It reminded me of a story that I once heard about an old goat that feel into a dried up well. The farmer was so upset and searched and searched for the goat. Finally the farmer found that his goat fell into the dried up well. The farmer knew how deep the well was and couldn’t get the goat out with a ladder or rope. So the farmer started filling the old well, with dirt and debris.
Now if I were the goat….I’d be confused. I’d feel like was being buried alive. How could my care taker just bury me alive? I didn’t mean to fall in the well… it’s not fair! Isn’t he going to help me? I was just walking and fell. If I was this goat, I would be tempted to give up. Especially after shovel, after shovel, after shovel full of dirt and debris kept falling upon me…. The farmer knew that the only way to get the goat out was to fill the well with dirt and debris, so the goat can climb out the well. The farmer wasn’t trying to bury the goat alive, he was saving the goat…
Each time the goat was dumped on, he used the dirt and debris as a stepping stone, like the farmer designed. The goat didn’t give up and allow himself to be buried alive. He used the dirt and debris to make a stronger foundation under him and that foundation lifted him out of the dried up well (or pit).
I know that we are not goats…but we can learn a lot from this old goat, that refused to be buried alive. See life will sometimes put us in a dried up well/pit. There are times when we make the pit ourselves with poor decisions and sometimes we are walking along and fall into well/pit that we didn’t dig.
We have a farmer that knows our troubles and how to get us out of our pits of discouragement, loneliness, anger, misunderstanding and bitterness. There are times when God can lift us up out of the pits in a moment and then there are times, when the pit is there to provide us a stronger foundation.
During these seasons of life, God has not abandoned us. God is with us every step of the way. See the pits in our life are not suppose to break us, but make us. We may not understand why all these bad things are happening. You may ask yourself what have I done to deserve this? This isn’t how I thought my life would be? This isn’t what I signed up for….. Where is God? I have lived for you Lord, I thought he loved me?
God isn’t trying to punish us but God is allowing our foundations to become stronger. Our relationship with the Lord will be strengthen through prayer, reading the word. Our faith and trust will grow stronger. God is allowing us to become more like him and grow closer to him.
Remember Ecclesiastes 3:1:
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
and Ecclesiastes 3:6 says:
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
We love a time to get… and over look a time lose…. Life isn’t perfect and won’t be. Things are not fair on this side of eternity. But, we do have hope and a faithful God, who loves us so much that he wants us to become more like him. He loves us so much to help us out of the pits of life, either by doing it for us or equipping us to get out ourselves, through prayer, the Word, faith and trust.
We have a peace that passes all understanding….
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:6
and Romans 8:28 says:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
There is so much to share, and so many more scriptures…..but this post is already uber long. My desire and prayer is that you are encouraged if you are going through a rough season and don’t understand why. Know that God loves you and is with you every step of the way. God is for you!
Many Blessings and have a great day!

You’re a Treasure!

Gotta love Kim Hughes…..I love her stamping style, clean and simple. This is a Birthday card that I made for one of my boys friends.
Things have been uber crazy around our home. Getting the boys ready for school, finding work, planning and preparing for a prayer revival in sept. Lots to do and trying to fit some creative time in, seem to be impossible. LOL!
Samuel is turning 8 years old and we are preparing for his birthday party…he is sooo excited!
Hope to see you in a day or two.
Many Blessings,

It’s been a while…

This is my final entry for the Cornish Heritage Farms, Summer Challenge. It was lots of fun!
This week was to use a “One Sheet Wonder”.
I stamped the Writing Paper Scrapblock onto my 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white paper. Then cut it out and used it several different ways to make a set of cards.
I used some yummy Making Memories DP and colored the images with my Copic markers.
The center image is the desk box I made using My Timeless Templates from Paper Trey Ink.
The weekend has got away from us. My cousin had her baby 3 weeks early and we have been at the hospital and visiting with family. Lots of fun! Baby is doing well for being born early and hopefully will be able to come home in a week or so.
I have so many things to share with you all and I hope to have more things posted in the next few days!
Have a super week and many blessings,

Happy Camper

22 Jul

I just love this set from Kim Hughes Collection at CHF….and had to do a scene with it for this weeks challenge. We are at challenge #4

My boys went camping with some friends yesterday for one night and will be home sometime today. So I wanted to make this card for the men who took my boys and a few others out to have some camping “boy” fun.

My boys were able to bring their pocket knives….Yeah it’s a good thing I’m not there. I don’t why I said they could purchase pocket knives with their money…LOL! What was I thinking!?!?!!?!? This way they can learn how to use them and I am not telling them to “stop” playing with them before they get hurt. LOL!

I girlie-fied the card a bit….I have a purple snail that is all glittery and the tent is blue, but it too is all glittery. I used my spica pens. I also added a bit of glittery goodness to the fire.
I used puffy paint for the marshmallows and the snow capped mountains. I slightly colored the marshmallows with my copic marker (sand color) to make it appear to be toasted….too fun!

I hope you are having a great week so far!!!

Thank for stopping by and many blessings,

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Paper: Kraft and Drk Choco CS
Ink: Memento Blk Ink, and Copic Markers

14 Jul

Happy Tuesday to you! This is my week 3 submission for the CHF Summer Challenge. This week we were to use a Resist technique. Lots of fun!!!
I re purposed an old skirt and stitched it to the front of my card and I think it added a nice shabby chic feel. I stamped one of my favorite scriptures….
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Psalm 37:4-6
These scriptures were very encouraging to me today and I hope they will encourage you as well.
I am still taking the online Photoshop coarse and it is sooo much fun!!! You will see some more pictures on my blog very soon. I am learning so much! You’ve got to check out Jessica Sprague, her classes are awesome. I will be saving up to take another one of her Photoshop classes.
Well I need to go. My youngest is without his older brother this week and he is wanting some one on one mommy time! Gotta love that!!!! I do. Of coarse I miss bubba too…but he is having a blast at Jr. Camp.
Many Blessings,
