Card Trio

26 Feb

I totally “cased” this card idea from Debbie of Thinking InkingDebbie is totally brilliant, and I’m not just saying that.  She is truly one of the best of the best in the card industry.  So I drew inspiration from this card…..HERE.

I made this trio of cards for a family member for her Birthday.  Too fun!

I found an awesome book that eveyone must read and I’ll share that you with you either tomorrow or early next week.

Blessings to you!

Waltzingmouse Blog Hop

21 Feb
This is Waltzingmouse Stamps first ever blog hop and I decided to play along!   Join in the fun.
Please start here:  Waltzingmouse Stamps.
I used WMS Earth Angel stamp set.  This stamp set is jam packed full of goodness!  Lots of wing choices, sentiments and even smaller sets of wings along with the body of a butterfly so you could put together your own butterfly image.  Too adorable!
I made this card for a friend.  On the inside of the card it says “with Heavenly Kisses and Hugs”.  My dear friend lost her husband two years ago and it is still very hard.  I could not image what she is going through and she is a wonderful example of God’s strength working in us.
I colored the angel with my Copic markers, used some uber yummy paper that my friend gave me for my birthday. (Isn’t it pretty?)  I don’t have the name of the paper pack in front of me. Sorry.  SU! scallop border punch for some decoration and my favorite ribbon green silk ribbon from May Arts.
Thanks for stopping by tonight and please visit the next person on the list:  MicheyMoo.

Heavenly Friend

19 Feb

This was the first card I made using my new Waltzing Mouse Stamps….I have so many more ideas floating around in my head and not a lot of time to make cards.

My time is full of studying and the boys….I wouldn’t change it for the world right now.

I used some October Afternoon – Report Card paper and colored her wings in with some sparkly glittery goodness.

Thanks for stopping by and talk with you soon!

Many Blessings,

Mary

Potato Optional

18 Feb
I think the On My Couch set from Paper Trey Ink is just adorable!  You’ll be seeing more and more of these cards as time goes on.
I used some Christmas October Afternoon paper that I had in my stash, some vintage crochet lace, creamy white silk ribbon from May Arts, the Fancy Florishes stamp set from Paper Trey Ink, Labels 1 die and my Making Memories Corner Chomper.  Too fun!
I loved coloring in the couch with my Copics, it was very theraputic.   I am learning to shade and add light…and it’s getting easier and easier as I continue to practice, so that’s a bonus!
Again I don’t have a lot to say….
Blessings and Have a great day!

You’re Special

17 Feb

I just love this little submarine from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I colored it in with my Copics and then used my saukra glitter pen to make it sparkle.  Too fun!

The waves stamp is from an oldie but goodie from Cosmo Cricket called Mr. Campy.  Love that stamp set and paper line still…it was one of my all time favorites.

Well not to much to say this moring.  Thanks for stopping by and many blessings to you!

Encouragment

15 Feb

Our fast is almost done.  It doesn’t seem like I have been fasting at all from the internet, when you look at my blogging.  But we have done the Media fast and will continue to do so.  I love the once a week movie and video game life.  It’s been good for all of us.  The boys thought and still think they’ll die! LOL!!!  But they won’t.

I made this card for Samuel as a small gift of encouragement.  I used the Top Ten stamp set from Paper Trey Ink.  I will be making a stack of these cards in the near future to keep on hand for my boys.  Everyone needs to have the gift of encouragment given to them.

I want to continually give them the gift of encouragement.  About 10 plus years ago, I came accross a CD and book that is called, Silver Boxes, by Florence Litthauer.  If you haven’t heard this CD you need to run out and purchase it!  (FYI- I am in no way affliated with Florence Litthauer or the website link…I am just an avid supporter of this message.)  Well it has been a good 7 plus years since I heard this message and during prayer one day, the Lord brought this message to mind.  I had been praying about ways to communicate to my children the importance of not using our words to hurt each other.  I call those words, Garbage Words, you know the type like, I don’t like you, I hate you, your aweful, you can’t do_____(fill in the blank.) very well, and each word is dripping with sarcasm.

You may be reading this and saying to yourself…well that’s just how kids and siblings are and I would agree with you to a certain extent.  My boys don’t swear or use offensive, obscene language…but they do use their words to cut each other down. And in our home that is completely unexceptable.

So one night I was beyond frustrated!  I pray often for God to guide me in all areas of my life and especially in raising my boys.  And that’s when the Lord reminded me of this CD.  (Thank you Jesus!) When I heard this message 10 plus years ago it was on cassette and I couldn’t find that cassette tape any where. (It wouldn’t of mattered anyways, becuase all we have are CD players.  The boom boxes (what we use to call them. Boy am I dating myself!) these days completely omit the cassette portion, they only play CD’s.   So, I googled and found a place to purchase the CD.  Click here.

You will be beyond encouraged in listening to this message.  It is from Eph. 4:29

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Basically it comes down to letting our words be like little Silver Boxes with bows on top.  Give encouraging words and don’t knock others peoples blocks down.  But the way Florence Litthauer delivers this message is beyond real and soooo funny!

I wish I could borrow my copy out to all of you….but I can’t…

Ok….enough…..LOL!

Blessings to you and thanks for stopping by.  I have lots of cards to share with you…so keep checking back.

Happy Valentine’s Day

14 Feb

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine day!  Enjoy……each other’s time.  I am going to keep this short….but had to post this card by today….LOL!

I used some paper that I got at Archivers.  Isn’t is pretty?  Love the blues, pinks, and red.  The little red hearts are foil hearts….sooo sweet.  Can you believe that there is not stamping?  I am shocked!  LOL!  I used a few punches and little ribbon and adhisive…that’s it!  Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.

Blessings to you, I am off to spend time with my two favorite Valentines, my boys!

Valentines…

11 Feb

Isn’t that image adorable?  It’s from a package of vintage finding from 7 Gypsies.   I love the little girls outfit….too fun, adorable and cute.  I colored her socks and the heart around her neck and on her outfit with my copic marker to make the image match the background paper.

The background paper is for Cosmo Cricket’s Lil’ Man Collection….you can see that any paper can be versitile….this paper pack is geared towards boys…but I think it made a perfect general (male or female) card.

Valentines day is just around the corner.  Happy Valentines Day to you!!!  Enjoy time with your special someone.  I have two special someone’s to spend Valentines with….my boys.

Have a great weekend and many blessings,

Mary
