Onsies and booties….

26 May

I know what you may be thinking…..another onesie and more booties! No I haven’t given up card making…I am still making them and will post a card soon.

No more baby items for a while. In June I giving my cousin her baby shower and you will have to put up with pictures….hope you won’t mind. I have been making baby invites and party favors. I can’t wait to share them with you. Very simple and easy.

My mom made these booties and I stamped the onesie. I got the better end of the deal this time….LOL!

Have a great day!

Many Blessings,

Onesies….anyone?

26 May

Like I mentioned in my previous post, several of my family members and friends are having babies. I am so excited for them. But there is a downer to all these babies in our family…..there’s not enough money to buy lots and lots of presents for them……so that gives me the opportunity to become resourceful.
I have tons of ink and stamps and for under $10 and a little bit of time, I can personalize some onesies and crochet booties that are from the heart and coordinate perfectly. Plus I can make some beautiful cards to go along with all the gifts we make.
It has also become a family project in making gifts. My boys are having fun helping me plan different themes….so we get to spend even more quality time together as well….and I love that! Squeeze that quality time in as much as possible, there can never be enough quaility time with my boys, in my opinion. They won’t be this age forever…..I want to enjoy them and each season with them. In the business of life it is sometimes hard to remember to cherish our time with our kids. And at times it’s even harder to refocus our priorities.
I love my babies and am so thankful to God for them. Even through the rough times of parenting. And by the rough times, I am refering to the new season of 12 years that I’ve entered. I mean what happened to the hormones kicking in when they are “teenagers”. Seriously I have still have 1 year before he is a 13 year old….Come on….hormones and mood swings already!!?!?!?! Doesn’t he know that his hormones have to wait a year! Talk about unprepared for this season.
We are making it through and I am praying for my 12 year old during these next few trying years. He has to face so much in this world. I pray that God wraps his loving arms around him and keeps his heart and mind fixed on Jesus and not on the things of this world. He has to face peer pressure and all kinds of things that I never had to deal with at his age. I know God is with him and when he makes mistakes, my prayer is that he will learn from each of them and that they will become the building blocks of his character. Ok enough about that….wow, unsure where all that came from, thanks for listening.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Many Blessings,
Mary

Lookie what I made!

23 May

This is the very first pair of crocheted booties that I have ever made! My mom taught me again how to crochet. She has shown me several different times while growing up and it just finally clicked….talk about a slow learner. LOL!

I seem to be surrounded by friends and family that are expecting babies soon. This pair is for my cousin Tony and his wife. They are expecting their second little girl. Babies are sooo sweet….(and I have to say that honestly I am glad to be out of this stage. I am a mother to a 12 year old and a 7 year old…no more babies for me! Yeah!! So I can hold and play with their babies and give them back when I’m done…how cool is that! LOL)

So how do you like them? Be honest. I used some silk ribbon and offset the bows. I like how they turned out. I also used the Sweet Blush Paper Trey Ink Buttons. I found two matching buttons in my stash and they work perfectly! Looks like the colors where made for each other.
I purchased this bootie pattern on line at Etsy. The Etsy shop that I purchased them from is empty. She sold out of all her patterns. The name to search under if you are ever interested…is Mamachee’s.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!!!

You’re a WINNER….

23 May

I love this set from Paper Trey Ink called All Star Team and All Star Team Additions. The sentiment I used on this card is one of my all time favorites. I am making a bunch of encouragement cards for my boys. The sentiment that I used in the background is so good too…Go the distance. They are just sooo good!

The sentiment above reminds me of a certain scripture….

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Many Blessings,

Mary

Happy Friday!!!!

22 May

It’s Friday….Whoo Hoo…anyone else excited! I made this Thank You card for a friend. I haven’t used this fishafella from stamping bella in a long time. It was about time I pulled him from my stash. LOL! I colored him using Copic markers.
I hope you have a super fantastic long weekend and wonderful memorial day celebration!
Many Blessings,
Mary

It’s Thursday!

21 May

It seems as though Thursday’s are my posting days…LOL! I have a card to share with you that I made with the newer Paper Trey Ink set called Tea for Two. When I saw this stamp set…..I just had to have it….I collect tea cups and have a small collection of tea pots as well. So this is perfect! The Teapot on the front of the card is covered with Versamark Dazzle ink. It is so shimmery IRL, the photo doesn’t do the shimmer justice.

Front of the card
Inside the card. It’s holding a tea bag.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!
Many Blessings,
Mary

Sharky Smileage…

8 May

Can you believe that I have posted a card each day this week! Wonders never cease. LOL!!!

I made this card for my boss….the shark cracks me up! His smile is adorable. Yes the shark is a boy…why? I don’t know…it looks like a boy and I always color him in blues, greens or greys…LOL! I am going to have to try a pink shark…a doodle a bow for her. =)

I am at Ladies Retreat…(so this is pre-scheduled post…) I will be home tomorrow.

Thanks for Stopping by and have a great weekend!

Da Bomb!

8 May

I found the new fun Making Memories – Just chillin at my local SBS. When I saw it…I had to get it. This line is perfect for my boys! It’s a mixture of a little grunge with a preppy flair. Perfect in my book!

My boys have been enjoying the cards I’ve made them with this line. No stamping and I am able to whip up quite a few in a 10 minute period without the cards looking cheesy. Now that is a total bonus in my book.

Have a great night!
